In a bid to clarify the new pensions simplification legislation called A-Day, a dedicated website was announced by Bank of Scotland Investment Service.
The A-Day advice website is designed to provide detailed but straightforward information on the legislation due to come into force on April 6th 2006.
According to the bank, the aim of the website is to provide a comprehensive online resource on A-Day.
The website outlines the effect that planned changes might have, thus helping customers assess their pension situation and encouraging them to take appropriate action in planning for their pension.
According to Alan Jones, head of Bank of Scotland Investment Service, there are still people who are unaware of the impact the new pensions legislation could have on their plans for retirement and pension.
"This website will prove to be a useful resource for such people - presenting the key facts around A-Day in a clear and concise way," he said.
Mr Jones added that it is essential for everyone contributing to a pension fund to be aware of the changes that are about to take place next year, and how the pension legislation would affect them personally.
"Anyone who is concerned should take professional advice now as steps can be taken to protect their current pension rights if necessary," he concluded.
