Clerical Medical is set to launch a new
pension campaign, aiming to highlight the quality of life that can be achieved upon reaching retirement.
The campaign, titled Enjoy Tomorrow, is designed to help people plan their
pensions to get the most out of their retirement, the company states.
Recent research released by the company showed that a
state pension has declined as a proportion of total pension income after reaching retirement.
Furthermore, more retirees are relying on a
personal pension to top up income and ensure quality of life.
Chris Hulse, head of brand at Clerical Medical, said: "People are increasingly relying on private pensions to ensure they have a better quality of life during retirement.
"Retirement should be a time to enjoy life and a high standard of living can be achieved with a good private pensions and investment programme in place."
Recent government reforms mean that a link to earnings will be restored in 2012, which may provide many
UK residents with an improved state pension income after reaching retirement.
However, plans to raise the retirement age to 68 mean that a
personal pension plan may still help many to have a comfortable income.
