Pension holders will be able to rapidly view personalised information about the state of their investments following the revamp of a financial services provider's website.
The online portal of Scottish Life has been comprehensively overhauled, meaning policyholders can now gain access to pages that specifically deal with the progress of their investments.
And the changes are also expected to help pension advisers, employers and trustees access key pension facts more easily and in greater depth than beforehand.
Commenting on the revamp, Nick Leitch, head of investment marketing at the pensions provider, has explained why it is good news for pension policyholders.
"This is in keeping with out drive to continually improve our service to customers and to make information on our products and services easier to access and understand," he said.
Earlier this month, pension contributors were put on alert by the findings of a study into the likely impact of the government's proposed national pensions savings scheme.
In a survey of employers by the Association of Consulting Actuaries, 76 per cent of respondents predicted the most generous company pensions would be shut down after personal accounts become a reality in 2012.
