Pensions fraud faces crackdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2008

The pensions regulator has tipped off the Serious Fraud Office, who have arrested three men over serious cases of pension fraud .

All men are connected with the pension trustees GP Noble, and two of the men are thought to be executive directors of the company. GP Noble has been suspended as the trustee of several pension schemes due to concerns cover some plans.

The pensions regulator has moved management from the stricken firm to a third party, meaning member benefits are at no risk. The intricacies of the pension scheme fraud case, and whether those arrested are found guilty, remains to be seen.
