Cofunds is partnering with Suffolk Life to launch a personal pension on the platform in the first quarter of this year, ifaonline.co.uk reports.
Though still in its developmental phase, it has already been confirmed that the charging structure on the new pension product will favour consumers who use other elements of the Cofunds platform, such as ISA wrappers .
The latest personal pension conforms to Cofunds' stated aim of becoming a platform for financial planners who provide holistic solutions for clients.
Alastair Conway, Cofunds' marketing and proposition director, told the website: "This is a statement of intent as we want to reward people who invest across the platform and not penalise them for it."
The launch of the new product is a repsonse to high consumer demand for a personal pension plan for a typical investor who could progress into a SIPP, Cofunds stated.
Meanwhile, a leading pension provider recently revealed that the pension gap between men and women has continued to grow.
The Prudential claimed that the pension income gender gap has increased by £782 since last year, when the difference was £6,642.
